Scott G.M. King, D.O.

Scott G.M. King, D.O.

Dr King has been with The Arlington Group since 2003. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery, and is fellowship trained in joint replacement surgery. This advanced training uniquely qualifies him for both routine and complex joint replacement procedures.

Dr King’s surgical interests are in minimally invasive surgery of the hip and knee-both reconstructive and arthroscopic. His fellowship training in adult reconstructive joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee was completed at the internationally known Center for Hip and Knee Surgery in Indiana. He performs his joint replacement surgeries utilizing the latest in orthopedic industry advancements. These include Anterior Supine Intermuscular Hip Replacement whereby a hip replacement is done without cutting any muscles and potentially allows for a quicker less painful recovery. He has performed well over 1000 anterior hip replacements. He also performs Birmingham Hip Resurfacing for the very young and active male hip replacement patient, total knee replacements using Zimmer Biomet components to ensure optimal fit and function, and partial knee replacements utilizing both the Oxford and Persona components. When appropriate, he also uses knee replacements that are made of OXINIUM, a hypo-allergenic, extremely low wearing bearing surface technology.

Dr King performs knee arthroscopy and also has a special interest in Hip arthroscopy surgery for early arthritis and other hip conditions such as hip impingement in order to prevent hip replacement and increase patient function, and decrease hip pain. He is also a former professional hockey player with the Detroit Red Wings, bringing an experienced perspective to his sports medicine practice.

Dr. King is a member of the prestigious AAHKS (American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons), the AAOS (American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons), and the AOAO (American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics). He graduated cum laude from the University of Maine, where he was a three-time Academic All-American, and graduated medical school from University of New England with Psi Sigma Alpha honor society standing. His Orthopedic residency training was completed at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. King lives with his wife and their four children in Hershey.
