Fifty years ago, the ball field on Berryhill Street was a mecca for youth baseball.
With a $1.2 million construction project, it is hoped that the field will once again attract area youth.
The project is a collaboration among the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet and the Boys and Girls Club of Central Pennsylvania.
The groups broke ground on the new park today. It is expected to be completed by early 2013.
